Hypnotherapy for Addiction

Addiction is defined as not having control over doing, taking or using something to the point of where it could be harmful to you.

This why if you’re suffering from an addiction, it can leave you feeling powerless and out of control. It can impact negatively on all areas of your life, from your relationships and home life, to your work life and even your self-confidence, leaving you feeling worried about your future health and happiness.

Anger

Feeling angry now and then is a normal part of life. Usually, anger is a result of feeling frustrated, insulted, deceived or even under attack. For many, anger is a natural reaction that passes quickly. In some instances, however, it can become a difficult emotion to control. Failing to manage anger effectively can lead to mental and physical health problems. You may find your anger management issues are affecting your relationships both at home and at work

Anxiety

Most of us know how it feels to be stressed, worried or nervous about something. Usually, these feelings are fleeting and they disappear as quickly as they appear. For those with anxiety, however, these feelings last longer and can be much more intense.

Confidence

Confidence loss or fear of rejection is a symptom that derives from anxiety. When a person’s anxiety rises, some of the symptoms could be increased heart rate, hot or cold flushing, stomach churning or panic attacks ,classic symptoms of our flight or fight response which is created in the primitive area of the brain in the Amygdala. The anxiety is caused by our own negative thoughts, maybe a lack of confidence in certain areas of our life . This can cause us to avoid situations altogether as we negatively forecast the outcome before the event has taken place.

Depression

We all feel low from time to time. Often this will quickly ease and we’ll go back to feeling like our usual selves. For some people, however, this low mood persists and affects everyday life.

Depression is a mental health condition that causes you to feel low for a prolonged period of time. You may struggle to carry out day-to-day activities and lose interest in activities that you used to find enjoyable

Fertility

Having difficulties with fertility can be a lonely and frustrating time. According to the NHS , one in seven couples finds it hard to conceive. For some, the cause is medical and doctors will talk you through the options available to you. For others, the cause is less clear and may be referred to as ‘unexplained infertility’. In these cases, a more holistic approach may be required.

Chronic pain is a complicated issue that can be hard to treat. Often, a variety of approaches are needed to help lessen pain, improve independence and help you cope with the emotional impact.

There are many causes of long-term pain, including conditions such as arthritis and fibromyalgia. Concerns like this require medical intervention and a pain management treatment plan. For many, complementary approaches such as hypnotherapy form part of this plan.

Panic Attacks

Anyone who has suffered a panic attack will certainly know the difference between that and generalised anxiety. Symptoms include increased heart rate, dizziness, hot sweats, hyperventilation, sweaty palms, a churning stomach and many more. Some describe the attacks as feeling paralysed or as if they are having a heart attack. Sufferers often do not know the cause of the panic attack. We do know however that there will be fear involved somewhere.

A phobia is a learned behaviour and if you can learn to have a phobia you can unlearn it and learn to react differently. You were not born with your phobia and chances are you cannot remember the event(s) that taught you to react or behave in the way you currently do. You know it is irrational yet cannot seem to do anything about it.

Public Speaking

Having a fear of public speaking is common; the thought of getting up in front of a crowd and talking is enough to make most of us break out in a sweat.  More and more of us are utilising email, social media and texting to communicate, meaning there's rarely a need to speak in front of an audience. This all means that when public speaking situations do come up, understandably we can feel anxious.

Relationship & Marital Difficulties

Humans are social beings; we crave connection, intimacy and conversation. It’s perhaps no surprise then that when our relationships are in danger, we are deeply affected. Whether these relationships are platonic or romantic, our emotions attached to them can be complicated. Often, experiences we have when we’re young affect our relationships as adults. We can learn unhelpful behaviours and be subconsciously affected by past events.

Sleep Problems

Helping us process the day, rest and heal, sleep has a huge impact on our overall health and well-being. When we become sleep deprived, we can start feeling exhausted, lacking in motivation and can even be more easily overwhelmed by our daily stress

Stress is something we experience when we feel under too much pressure and unable to cope. We all experience stress from time to time and we all experience it differently. A certain situation (for example, bungee jumping) may be incredibly stressful for one person, but someone else's idea of fun.

Losing weight can be a difficult process, it certainly isn’t made any easier by the continuous and often conflicting advice in the world. On television or Social media we are bombarded daily with images of food, advertising food, not forgetting the latest fad or trend diet. While it is important for people to lose weight for health reasons if they are overweight, its not good to feel ashamed about the desire to lose weight. Body shape and image is so tied in with the western idea of beauty, we are constantly looking for a ‘quick fix’ to give rapid results.
