Hypnotherapy for
Pain Management

If you’re suffering from chronic pain, you’ll know that it’s difficult and not always straightforward to treat. Often, a variety of approaches are needed to help lessen the pain, improve your independence and help you cope with the emotional impact.

If this is the case for you, then you may have been advised by well-meaning family and friends to just relax and let nature take its course. Which definitely isn’t easy to do when having a family is so important to you.

Alleviating your pain

For those suffering from acute pain or short-term pain, doctors often prescribe pain relief over a limited period of time with effective results. But if you’re suffering from chronic or long-term pain, a pain management plan combined with a complimentary approach is often the best way to alleviate pain.

An important part of pain management is looking at the link between body and mind, and how physical discomfort can bring about psychological distress. Stress and anxiety are common side effects of pain, which can in fact work together to heighten the intensity of the pain you’re feeling.

So, when you work to reduce your feeling of stress and anxiety, this can also lesson your feelings of pain.

Solution Focused Hypnotherapy for pain management is one of the complementary therapies that has been found to be very effective in the management of long-term pain.

How I can help

In our first session we’ll discuss the pain you’re experiencing and how it’s affecting you emotionally.

Then, when I guide you under hypnosis, I’ll help you to focus on relaxation and letting go of distracting thoughts. This will temporarily tune out the conscious part of your mind, opening you up to the power of suggestion.

At this point, I’ll make suggestions to encourage pain relief. I won’t try to convince you that your pain doesn’t exist, but I’ll help you to manage the anxiety and fear you have relating to your pain. This will also help to relax the nervous system and help it to become less reactive to pain.
